2012 Schedule of Events

City wide festival and fishing derby with carnival, vendors, entertainment and supporting events held Fri, Sat., Sun, Oct. 12, 13 and 14. 
 

Carnival
Location:  Front St. on Dolk Tractor property, 242 N. Front St.
Set-Up Dates: October 8 – 15
Activity:  Carnival Open: Thursday 4-10 pm; Fri 4 – 11 pm, Sat 12 – 11 PM Sun 12 – 5 pm
Tear Down:  Sun 5-9 pm, Mon 7 – 11 am
Prop. Owner Dolk Tractor, Vista del Rio landowners.  Carnival van parking on city owned property, accross the street             next to the river.
 

Fishing Derby
Location:    City owned property:  City Dock to 45 Main St. (left side, front section only)
Street/sidewalk in front of building.  Seating and stage set up Sunday afternoon
Set Up Dates: Thurs. Oct 11, 9 am – 2 pm
Activity: Weigh and measure station for Derby operated by CSBA. Fishing Derby Awards and Raffle Drawing Teardown: Sun.,   5- 6pm

Vendors
Location: City owned property – requires street closure, front St. from Main St. to Dolk Tractor and Main St. from 45 Main to River
Set up dates: Front St. area Fri: 8:00 am – 4 pm, Main St. area: Sat 7 – 9 am
Acitivity: Selling food, crafts, commercial items and beer in beer garden area
Tear down: Sun 5 – 9 pm Mon. 8 am – 1 pm (booth removal)

Lions Pancake Breakfast
Location:    Youth Center – 225 Sacramento St.
Activity:    Pancake Breakfast – propane cooking equipment outside
Set up Dates:  Sat. Oct 13 5 – 6 am
Activity Time: Sat., Oct. 13 7-11 am
Tear Down: 11:30 am

Kids Fishing Tank
Location:    City owned property – Main St. near 45 Main
Activity:    Kid’s Fishing for live trout monitored by adults
Set-up Dates:    Sat., Oct 12, 7 – 9:30 am
Activity Time:    Sat Oct 12, 10 am – 2:00 pm
Tear-down:    Sat Oct 12, 3 – 4 pm

Car Show
Location:    City owned property – Side streets used are 2nd and 3rd on both sides of Main St. and 4th, just the south side.  Requires Street Closure of Montezuma from Front St. – 4th St. from 3:30 - 6:00 pm.
Set-up Date :  Sat. Oct 12 - 7:00 am
Activity Time:  8 am - 6 pm Cars displayed and viewers walking
Tear-down:  6:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Soap Box Derby
Location:    City owned property – Main St. from 5th to 3rd Sts. (Drug store to Firehouse)
Activity:    Soap Box Time Trails and Derby and Awards
Set-up Dates: Sun. (following the parade)
Activity Time: Sun. Approx. 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Tear-down:  Sun. 5:30 pm

Pole Barn Entertainment Area
Location:     Front St. between Sacramento and alley adjacent to Pole Barn – Beer Garden approved for expansion into the curb lane of Front St., between Sacramento and the alley.
Activity:     Live music, Entertainment and Karaoke Open Mic and Idol Contest
Set-up Dates:     Thurs and Fri, 8 – 4:00 pm (equipment, electrical generators, lighting, stage, backdrop, hay bales, tables, chairs sound, beer garden fencing, barricades, signage, banners, etc)
Activity Time:     Fri. - Live Bands and Entertainment  - 4:00 pm - Midnight
Sat. -Karaoke open Mic and Idol Contest  10:00 am – 3:30 pm
Live Bands and Entertainment – 4:00 pm - Midnight
Sun. -Karaoke Finals 11:00 am – 3:30 pm
Karaoke Idol Contest Awards – 3:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Tear-down:  Sun.-4 pm – 9:00 pm
Mon. 8 – 2:00 pm

Fireworks
Location:      In the River, Dutra barge
Activity:      Fireworks by J and M Displays (permit fee paid by J and M Displays)
Activity Time:     8:30 pm

Bass Festival Parade
Location:      City owned property – Main St. from Sierra Ave. to Front St. Requires street closure
Set up times:    Sun. 10:30 am (line up on Sierra Ave. and 7th St.)
Activity Times:   Parade 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm (approx) Parade Awards:  3:00 pm lower Main St.  Parade ends at Front St.,
Participants return on Montezuma St. to their vehicles.  House trailers park on 7th St. at Portuguesa Hall property.
