About The 62nd Annual Bass Derby! 

FISHING DERBY:
Its a fisherman's dream come true. The oldest fishing derby on the West Coast will once again be highlighted at the Rio Vista Bass Festival. This year, anglers will be able to choose between two fishing contests on the same ticket.

Striped bass - Our biggest derby is still the striped bass with the winners bringing in the bass closest to the target length*.  Cash prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Sturgeon - So no one is left out, we are including Sturgeon to our Derby list in 2009. The anglers bringing in the sturgeon closest to the target length* will also win cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Kids Derby This is a family event and we welcome young anglers, up to but not including 16 years of age.  Kids will be fishing for catfish and striped bass.

*Target Length will be drawn at the start of the Derby for both Striped Bass and Sturgeon.

Admission is free for everyone.

 Rio Vista is located in the heart of the Delta on the beautiful Sacramento River on Highway 12, just 48 miles southwest of Sacramento, 65 miles northeast of San Francisco and just 30 miles west of Stockton.
